Owner & Lead Instructor

Miss Chylene Player Burdick

Miss Chylene is a Sumter, South Carolina, native with over 36 years of teaching experience. She began training at Betty Freed School of Dance, where she quickly climbed up the ranks of Freed Spirit at 12, studying under Andrea Freed-Levenson. Majoring in business and minoring in dance at Winthrop University, she would act as the captain/choreographer and eventually coach of the Winthrop dance team. After her time in Fort Mill, she returned to Sumter to teach and co-founded the Rising Stars at Miss Libby's, leading them to a National Title before leaving to join forces with Miss Brenda Cranford of Hartsville and open their dance school in Darlington.

She returned to her roots in Sumter to open Dreamworks Dance Academy and uses her gifts to minister to the youth. Her students have traveled internationally on mission trips and have found that dance is the international language and a gift in sharing Christ with others. It is her true desire that every Dreamworks student feels loved and appreciated for whatever they are interested in pursuing, regardless of level or talent.

Miss Chylene traveled to Botswana, Africa in the summer of 2011 to help lead a Christian children's conference. She volunteers at Crosswell Children's Home, ADMS Special Needs, ADBC Sunday School and VBS, and Harmony Church Bible Alive. She has taught choreography for the Alice Drive Elementary Spring Fling for the past 10 years and was the Dance Gifted and Talented instructor for School District #17 for five years. She has national titles and choreography awards to her credit. She was a special needs dance instructor at Public Schools in Florence and Sumter and Owned Dance Dynamics Darlington for seven years. She is married to Paul Burdick, and they have three wonderful children, Olivia, Austin, and Bryan.
