DREAM TEAM Competition

Depending on the team you are selected for, the class requirements vary. Younger students will have fewer requirements than our older team members. All members of the jazz team will be required to take a ballet class in addition to their regular team classes. This will be broken down in your welcome packet.

Depending on your team placement, the amount will vary. There is a monthly fee as well as costume and competition/convention fees. We provide several fundraising opportunities to offset some of these costs. This will also be brown down in your welcome packet.

We determine all our dances based on the ability of the individual student in that style of dance. There is no guarantee that students will be in the same groups. We will make this decision based on what is best for the team.

We do our best to find a spot for every dancer who is willing to make the commitment, but please know, if your dancer does not make the team this year, we do have company classes that can build technique required for their next audition.

As a team member, you will need to purchase a Dream Team warmup jacket for all team events. You will also need regular dance attire for class.

We attend a variety of competitions and a convention each season. These are determined in early fall. Our younger team members are required to attend 2 competitions and an optional convention. Our older team members are required to attend 3 competitions and a mandatory convention. Occasionally there will be optional competitions and conventions we can attend if we have enough interest.

We have a mandatory Dream Team intensive over the summer to continue our technique. In the fall, we have set class times for each level weekly. In these classes, they will learn technique and choreography for the year. In January, we hold mandatory Dream Team camps every weekend. We will add rehearsals if we see a routine that needs more cleaning.

These are chosen by the director for hard-working individuals. Not everyone will get to perform a solo, duet, or trio and the director will use her discretion in choosing who performs these.
